TuneCore unveils annual flat fee plans
Global digital music distributor TuneCore has announced new pricing plans that offer artists unlimited releases at a fixed yearly cost.
The plans target artists at all stages of their music careers, allowing them to release music to various digital service providers like Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music.
Below is a summary of the new plans:
The New Artist plan offers free unlimited release of songs to the music libraries of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, including Shorts and Content ID, and access to YouTube’s Official Artist Channel, with no-upfront fee. Artists retain 80% of earnings collected.
The Rising Artist plan includes the services offered by the New Artist plan plus unlimited distribution to more than 150 streaming platforms and store partners like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer and Tidal. The tier costs $14.99 a year and pays artists 100% of their revenue. The plan lets users to pre-schedule release dates and offers official verification on Spotify and Apple Music, and artist support response time within 72 hours.
The Breakout Artist plan adds to its predecessor’s offering with access to Automator, which automatically includes release in all streaming and digital stores that will be available in the future, as well as downloadable reporting and artist support with a response time within 48 hours, all for $29.99 a year. It gives artists 100% of their earnings.
The Professional plan, meanwhile, will set users back $49.99 a year for more sophisticated features. It is targeted at labels, managers and artists who are in an advanced stage of their careers. It boasts all the services mentioned in the above plans as well as premium sales reporting, use of your own UPC and a custom label name, access to select country restrictions, exclusive partnerships and promotional opportunities. This plan also gives the option to add additional artist profiles for $14.99 for each artist a year, and a quick support response time within 24 hours.
“We’ve spent a year speaking directly to artists and labels about how we can make our service better for them,” TuneCore CEO Andreea Gleeson said. “What emerged is: artists want to be able to test their new music for free before distributing to all services and they want to release the music they are creating instantly, regularly and seamlessly with one annual subscription enabling unlimited music distribution.”
