PSILK named latest Apple Music Up Next artist in South Africa
Apple Music has announced PSILK, the rising South African electronic pop producer and songwriter, as the latest artist to join its Up Next artist development programme in South Africa.

PSILK, whose music blends folk, indie-pop, and nostalgia-driven electronica, described the selection as a significant milestone in his journey.
“What a privilege to be featured among the incredible music coming out of Africa right now,” PSILK told Apple Music. “Knowing people connect with my music means the world to me. My music is all about raw expression and pushing sonic boundaries, expect the unexpected in 2025, and beyond. Much love!”
Born and raised in rural Oudtshoorn, PSILK was introduced to music production at a young age by his brothers. Despite having no formal training, he began crafting intricate sonic textures driven purely by creative instinct. “It was a new world opening before my eyes,” he said.
His latest track, ‘With You In Mind’, features vocals by Thando Zide and marks a standout moment in his evolving sound. It follows the release of his EP All That I Am, which emerged from his participation in Quiet Life Co’s Artist Accelerator Programme, an initiative designed to support emerging independent artists.
As the newest Up Next act, PSILK will be featured on Apple Music’s Up Next playlist, which showcases a genre-agnostic selection of new and emerging talent hand-picked by the platform’s global editorial team.
Apple Music’s Up Next programme has previously supported an acclaimed roster of global talent, including Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Tems, and Rema. PSILK’s inclusion marks another chapter in the growing recognition of South Africa’s diverse and innovative music scene.
