Pablo Nouvelle features Angélique Kidjo on Milambi

'Milambi', which is the first single off Nouvelle’s EP Eliso, is now available on all major music streaming platforms.

The pulsating house track is inspired by Nouvelle’s recent trip to eSwatini and Mozambique. Although Kidjo is typically known for exploring various styles of music, most notably her exploration of Talking Heads’ Remain in Light album, the song marks the beginning of the singer’s journey into genuine electronica.

The new single also features samples from the late 20th century British ethnomusicologist Hugh Tracey’s library of African field recordings. The single is accompanied by a video, which was also produced using footage from Tracey’s archive, and showcases African landscapes and tribal dance rituals.
