Nigeria: FAVE joins Apple Music’s Africa Rising programme
Apple Music today announced Nigerian singer-songwriter FAVE as its latest addition to the Africa Rising programme.
The programme is an artist development initiative and companion playlist geared towards showcasing the next generation of African superstars.
The 21 year old joins the likes of fellow Nigerians Omah Lay and Tems as wellas South Africa’s Blxckie, who have been featured in the programme. FAVE will enjoy a minimum of two months’ editorial support across the Apple Music platform, including on Apple Music 1 radio.
“Being on Apple Music’s Africa Rising programme takes me one step closer to the dream: a gateway to the world stage,” FAVE said. “I’m proud to represent Africa with my voice and in my lyrics.”
FAVE began her professional music career at the age of 19 in 2019 with her debut single ‘M.O.M.M.S.’, which has been featured in two Nollywood TV series.
Other offerings from the singer include ‘DAL’ and ‘N.B.U (Nobody But You)’. She also appears on two tracks off rapper Olamide’s ninth studio album UY Scuti (2021). FAVE’s debut EP Riddim 5 comprises five songs that meld Afropop, Caribbean and neo-R&B influences.
