Locals favoured with low ticket prices for Sauti za Busara

The upcoming edition has slotted 19 local groups to perform during 12-15 February 2015. It is free of charge for locals before 5pm everyday and thereafter only Tsh 3,000/- for all Tanzanian nationals to experience Busara! On top of the fact that children are allowed in for free, the locals have no choice but to dress up and show up in Tanzanian colours, unleashing diehard support for their very own.

Through Sauti za Busara’s contribution, Tanzania continues to cement its place on the world map when it comes to cultural tourism. The festival director, Yusuf Mahmoud says “Sauti za Busara brings people together, provides jobs, helps invigorate local culture, promotes artists and their meeting and learning from each other, and promotes cultural tourism for Tanzania. Furthermore, Sauti za Busara plays an important role in the country: to build peace and unity, with respect for diversity”.

Alongside internationally acclaimed musicians like Ghana’s Blitz the Ambassador, Tcheka (Cabo Verde), Isabel Novella (Mozambique), Aline Frazao (Angola), Octopizzo and Sarabi from Kenya and South Africa’s Ihhashi Elimhlophe, artists representing Tanzania at Sauti za Busara 2015 include Alikiba, Msafiri Zawose, Leo Mkanyia, Culture Musical Club, Mgodro Group, Mabantu Africa Ifa Band, Cocodo African Music, Rico Single, Mwahiyerani, Zee Town Sojaz, Kiki KIdumbaki and many more.
