Goethe-Institute Cameroon has announced the two winners who took part in the Goethe-Découverte (Goethe Discovery) sound and voice competition last month.
The winners are Skriim (Fabrice Otse Mbida) and Cysoul (Cyril Fouda Etoundi) who were crowned in the sound and voice categories respectively. The sound category is reserved for instrumentalists and sound designers while the voice category seeks to unearth and support upcoming singing talent in Cameroon.
The two winners will each get the following:
- Personalised coaching by established artists.
- Organisation of a concert or a sound installation from January to December 2019 (communication, technical organisation and logistics).
- CFA 300 000 ($500).
- A digital photo album of the concert/presentation.
- A video of the concert/presentation.
- A mini-documentary presenting the artist.
- Production of a music video.
- Production of a mini-album (studio recording and production of 300 CDs for promotional purposes) or support towards production of the installation.
The winners were chosen by an independent jury comprising singers, rappers, producers, songwriters, sound engineers and music professionals. In choosing the winners, the jury considered aspects such as originality, creativity, level of professionalism, technical and artistic skills, relevance, and innovation of the proposed work.
