The South African Music Users (SAMU) workshop is intended for DJs, club owners, festival creators and broadcasters.
It seeks to educate participants on the controversial copyright amendment bill and the importance of using local content.
Interested individuals can register for the workshop by sending an email to samuworkshops@gmail.com.
The registration deadline is 20 November.
Delight Productions SA executive director Bheki Mlambo says the workshop is endorsed by the Southern African Music Rights Organisation and the Composers, Authors and Publishers Association.
“It aims discuss the power and influence that the music user has on the music industry value chain and in the community at large,” he said.
“Participants will discuss their own challenges and the challenges of the copyright amendment bill.
“The workshop will also seek to inspire music users to grow in the music industry by reporting to collective management organisations, which will assist creators to earn royalties.”
