INGODUKO

Ingoduko; is the music concert celebrating our culture and giving a voice to the IsiXhosa indigenous instruments uhadi and umrhubhe. An appreciation of African music for Africans from where it began and providing nostalgia of home through song. The presentation aims to find ways to preserve and teach young people indigenous music. The intention is to encourage people to return to their roots, embrace their Africanism and bring healing through indigenous music/songs.
Ingoduko will feature the internationally renowned legend of indigenous music, the Honorary Dr Madosini Latozi Mpahleni, the carrier of our culture and the source of indigenous music knowledge. Her contribution to the preservation of IsiXhosa indigenous instruments has been significant. Her influence is the inspiration behind this concert dedicated to honouring her contribution to myself, "Thandeka Mfinyongo", as an uhadi and umrhubhe musician and the South African music industry at large.

Furthermore, this concert is an opportunity to archive, inspire and promote holistic documentation of indigenous music of different cultures for the younger generation.
