Zen Zikhali, a dynamic DJ, music curator, and producer from Durban, South Africa, weaves a rich tapestry of sound that spans Hip Hop, Kwaito, Funk, Neo-Soul, Jazz, and beyond. Renowned for his deep crates of rare South African and African grooves, timeless classics, and contemporary rhythms, Zen crafts unforgettable sonic experiences. His curatorial expertise shines through in his previous work with KZNSA Gallery and as curator for Dr. Sibusiso "Mash" Mashiloane’s acclaimed Isigqi Live album. Currently, he holds court as the resident DJ and music curator at Durban’s prestigious Jazz & Blues haven, The Chairman.Zen’s electrifying sets have lit up stages at events like the Durban Street Food Festival, TML Festival, and more, as the resident DJ at The Chairman he’s shared the spotlight with luminaries such as Dr. Madala Kunene, Dr. Nduduzo Makhathini, Mbuso Khoza, Zoe Modiga, Zamajobe, Kujenga, and Benjamin Jephta. As a key member of the Style Sundays ZA collective, Zen continues to shape Durban’s vibrant music culture, curating events that celebrate rhythm, soul, and community.
