Wren Hinds
Bio
Wren Hinds, based in Cape Town and raised on South Africa’s East Coast, has quietly become one of the most compelling singer-songwriters in the southern hemisphere- his songs are tender explorations of grief, fatherhood, time and memory—honest and lyrical, never sentimental. His fourth album Don’t Die in the Bundu, released on UK label Bella Union (Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Midlake, Father John Misty) was called “a subtle form of intensity” by Mojo Magazine, and “a gently beguiling set of sweet, soft hymns to hope in choppy times” by Record Collector.
Wren's live performances are curated with a deep sense of artistic intention—immersive, versatile, emotionally charged, and often described as soul-nourishing experiences that leave audiences moved and inspired.
Don’t Die in the Bundu was recorded on the Cape Peninsula and received praise from international outlets for its haunting arrangements and lyrical intimacy. The release established Wren as a vital voice in the new wave of global indie artists. Bella Union has since released his entire back catalogue on vinyl, making his full body of work available to audiences around the world.
In addition to his label deal, Wren has also been signed to Faber Alt, a division of the London-based Faber Music, for sync and publishing representation.
