Ventura Rosenthal

In 1977, Ventura immigrated to South Africa and joined the National Symphony Orchestra of the SABC as principal harpist – a position she held until its closure in January 2000. She has since appeared on the concert platform as soloist and ensemble player and has done various recordings of serious and light music. Ms Rosenthal taught the harp at the University of the Witwatersrand, Potchefstroom and Pretoria University. At present, Ventura is principal harpist with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO). Her CD, which was printed in England, plus other recordings are often played on ClassicFM and SaFm and can be found on the Internet.
