Trevino Isaacs

Bio

Music Director, Producer, Composer, Arranger, Musician, Founder of Mitchell's Plain Music Academy and Teacher

Trevino Farrel Isaacs, being born into a music-orientated family, was influenced by his grandfather to join a gospel band when he was a mere four year old boy from the Cape Flats in Cape Town. He is primarily a self-taught musician. This later grew into a deeper desire and
curiosity which led to a passion for learning all there is to know about music.

Trevino is well-capable of playing the guitar, bass guitar, piano, accordion, banjo and drums with confidence. The church recognised his zeal and natural ability for playing musical instruments and encouraged him to start playing piano in church at the tender age of ten. Over the next few years, Trevino fervently researched all he could about pianos, watching and asking advice from older musicians, and by the age of fourteen was playing for various gospel groups in and around Cape Town.

At the age of fifteen, Trevino's musical journey expanded as he started performing at corporate events after being approached by a band called Backchat and later joined the Take Note Band in 2006. Thereafter TrevinoKeys Productions (Pty) Ltd was born.

Trevino has been well-trained by his older peers and industry-pioneers. He is a professional, experienced and mature artist and is always ready to take on a new challenge. In 2010 Trevino worked more independently and since has been the musical director for numerous
established artists both locally and internationally.

In 2013, Trevino was moved to open a music academy for less fortunate teenagers in the Western Cape with the aim to educate and empower those that do not have the means to pay for training at established institutions.

The Mitchells Plain Music Academy is now home to 170 students teaching more than 10 different instruments, theory of music and aural training. The academy currently has 13 staff members made up of professional music instructors an administrator and a IT specialist.
His education now includes: Electronic Music Production (EMP) at Cape Audio College, Diploma in Financial Management, Classical music studies at Stellenbosch University, Business Management/development and Entrepreneurship from Stellenbosch University Business School.
