Bio
TDsax (Tembinkosi Sikiti) – Saxophonist, Cultural Voice, and Son of the Soil
TDsax, is a gifted South African saxophonist whose music is a spiritual experience—evoked through presence, love, and divine connection. Rooted in Afrikan jazz fusion, gospel, soul, and love melodies, his sound is both ancestral and innovative, carrying the heartbeat of the Eastern Cape wherever he performs.
A respected headman in his community, TDsax merges his cultural leadership with musical expression, offering melodies that honour tradition, heal the soul, and connect generations. Those closest to him know his music often begins not in silence, but in sacred moments of presence shared with those who hold space for his spirit.
His artistry has graced major stages such as the Chris Hani Jazz Festival and the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, often performing with his ensemble, TDsax and the Band. He draws deep inspiration from his late brother, world-renowned opera tenor Siphiwo Ntshebe, and the spiritual teachings of Joshua Maponga.
TDsax is not only a musician—he is a vessel of memory, healing, and hope. Through every note, he carries the stories of his people and the rhythm of his land.
