Tanaka Dunbar Ngwara

Tanaka Dunbar Ngwara is a Zimbabwean-American singer and composer based in London. Her focus is in Musical Theatre with a goal of documenting and re-telling African stories in a spoken-sung medium that is reminiscent of the oral traditions of her ancestors. She has a special interest in Zimbabwean ethnomusicology, and exploring cultural fusion in her composition. Her original musical, entitled Paivapo '76, debued at The Lewis Center for the Arts in Spring of 2024.
