Bio

Shona (also known as Boma) is a Nigerian creative with various expressions of art. She’s a rapper, break-dancer and multi-instrumentalist. She is a reformer and a catalyst; using her music and art to address topics and ignite change. Growing up, she listened to the likes of Tupac, Biggie, Puff Daddy, the Fugees, Eminem, Kanye West; to mention a few. These rappers influenced her approach to culture. She also loves alternative rock- also listened to a lot of Blink 182, Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit - which sparked her interest in drums and guitar.

Her Debut single titled “HeForShe” (available on all music platforms) speaks about the role men play in gender equity, the hook of the song raises awareness on how much men of all ages are needed to change the narrative of what “men” or “women” are to do, especially from childhood; in the family - calling on men to give women “wings”, which represents equity. Shona is working on her EP, release dates yet to be announced.

She is a top finalist on Voice to Represent (Voice2Rep) 2020 and a brand ambassador.
