Bio

Ruth Mahogany is a poet and musician who started out from fusing spoken word poetry with music. Her versatility continues to shine through as her sound evolves and she keeps marrying musical genres like in the most iconic way, birthing a unique alternative sound. Her debut album, ‘Stories They Want to Hear’ was released in January 2023, nicely telling in the most musical and poetic way, the importance of pain to our growth. 

She has also contributed to the projects of others as a composer, music producer and songwriter. She has served as a singer, songwriter and music producer for the Songs of Love Foundation, an international foundation dedicated to creating personalized, original songs for children and teens facing tough medical, physical, or emotional challenges.

Her accolades include multiple victories at Poetry Slams and the prestigious Ned Nwoko Antarctica 'War Against Malaria' Campaign Prize in 2021. Notably, she emerged as one of the winners of the Vis-a-Vis 12th Edition by Casa Africa and the Spanish Embassy alongside the ARB Music Band, earning the opportunity to tour and showcase her music and poetry at renowned Spanish Music Festivals across nine cities in Spain in July 2023.
