Ras Kayaga

The sixth of a family of twelve, Ibrahim Nahimana aka Ras Kayaga got interested in music since his early childhood. His mother was a singer in a famous band in Kigali, his father started to teach him how to play a traditional Rwandan zither instrument called Inanga and the guitar when he was only six years old.

He has done concerts in many African countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, South Africa, the DRC and Malawi. He has also performed at many festivals such as Amani Festival in Goma, DRC, Doadoa Festival in Jinja, Uganda, Bukafest in Bukavu, DRC, Caravan Amani in the DRC, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, Jamafest in Kigali, Rwanda, Fespad in Kigali, Rwanda and KigaliUp! in Kigali, Rwanda.

In 2013 he was selected to represent Rwanda at the Jeux de la Francophonie where he won the bronze medal.
