Quing Torch
Bio
Quing Torch AKA Lady Israel is a South African singer-songwriter, poetess, and cultural pioneer who has been an active force in the music industry since 2011.
Known as the founder of the trademarked genre Moya Rock™, she occupies a unique space where ancestral rhythms meet esoteric philosophy. Her work serves as a sonic bridge for the "unchurched". Those who have moved beyond institutional religion into Universal Spirituality, while remaining deeply rooted in the soil of Southern Africa.
Quing Torch has architected a new musicgenre,Moya Rock™, which is characterized by the "Wall of Sound" created by:
* The Rock : The thunderous, organic pulse of the Apostolic Big Drum (Isigubhu), representing the physical foundation and the heartbeat of the Earth.
* The Moya (Spirit): The soulful, rhythmic "breath" of the Famo Accordion, invoking a sense of spiritual movement and ancestral memory.
* The Message: High-level Zulu and Sesotho poetry and music that explores the self-sovereignty, and the inner kingdom.
Her music is a "ritual of the streets," transforming the traditional church vibe into a processional, triumphant sound for the modern seeker.
Her popular song, Kemang y'ka namelang" (Who may ascend?), serves as a manifesto for the Moya Rock™ movement, merging the heavy 'Isigubhu' frequency with the metaphysical question of who is prepared to rise to their highest divine self.
Quing Torch continues to lead the "Unchurched" movement through live performances that are less like concerts and more like coronations.
