Phelo Musiq

Born Siphelo Jongwana, Phelo Musiq is a 26-year-old Afro-soul singer, composer, and guitarist from Peddie, a small town in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Phelo's musical journey began in church, where he discovered his passion for singing. During his university years, he expanded his talents through jam sessions. In 2016, self-taught Phelo learned to play the guitar, drawing inspiration from his mentor, the late Bulelwa "Zahara" Mkutukana.

Currently working on his debut album, Ingqaka, Phelo Musiq infuses his soulful sound with messages of hope and resilience, deeply rooted in his Christian faith. His single, eGoli, is a heartfelt tribute to Zahara, reflecting their close working relationship and shared industry challenges.

Phelo's music is also influenced by industry icons Amanda Mankayi and Naima Kay, who encouraged him to pursue a solo career. Embracing his natural talent, Phelo produces his music without vocal enhancements.
