NTLOKOMA

Ntlokoma Masangwana Born and raised in the Eastern Cape, Ntlokoma discovered his passion for music at the tender age of five.  growing up in a household filled with traditional gospel music, courtesy of his mother's extensive CD collection, he was exposed to the sounds of local artists singing in their native language. This sparked a realization that music wasn't just something he enjoyed, but something he could create himself.

As he grew older, Ntlokoma became fascinated with artist like Zahara, Nathi, Bongeziwe Mabandla, and Simphiwe Dana, who only sang in their native language but helped shape his style and approach to songwriting maternal side of the family's cultural traditions and spiritual practices also played a significant role in shaping his musical style.

Ntlokoma began to write his own songs at the age of 12, drawing inspiration from his surroundings and the world around him. After enrolling at the university of Free State in 2018, he joined the prestigious UFC choir, where he continued to hone his craft. He wrote and recorded his first single' YEKELELA ' which was released in 2023 to critical acclaim. The overwhelming response from fans, who related to his lyrics and story was a testament to the power of his music. Now, Ntlokoma is back with anew EP titled 'UMNOMBO', showcasing his growth as an artist and his commitment of telling stories that resonate with his audience. He describes his sound as new age afro soul. With his unique blend of traditional and contemporary sounds, he is poised to make a lasting impact on the music scene.
