Nesnes

Bio

Nesnes was born Kelvin Khuzumba in Thyolo, Malawi on 15 November 1988. His career began in 2006 in Lilongwe. He is the fourth in a family of six. He was raised by his mother following the passing on of his father when he was a teenager. While growing up, Kelvin enjoyed listening to music. His mother realised his passion and took him to Seventh Day Adventist Church where he became a member of the choir. In high school, he began doing free styles and managed to record his first song while doing Form Two. Unfortunately the song never hit the airwaves.

He didn’t give up. In 2009, he and his friends recorded another song at Toxic Records in Lilongwe. Once more, the song never received airplay. His efforts to begin his career seemed futile. He recorded over 40 songs from 2009 to 2013 but only a few were released.

In January 2013, he moved to Blantyre. The move marked the beginning of his bright future when he met Edward Kankhomba. Edward had just opened a music label called Prime Time Media. He went through all his unreleased music and fell in love with ‘Chidodo', a song Nesnes recorded in 2012. He was impressed with the talent and immediately signed Nesnes as his first artist under the stable.

‘Chidodo’ was released and received an overwhelming support. This was followed by the release of ‘Wabodza’. He featured a rapper called Barry One on the song. He released another single titled ‘It’s not Fair’. The song also received airplay. In March 2014, he released the 'It’s Not Fair' music video. The song is a 2013 single from the 'Rain Drops' Riddim. It was produced by Cuff B of Big Vision Entertainment. In January 2015, he released a music video for the 'Wanga Ndiwe' song. The song reportedly stayed on Malawi-music.com’s 'Top 100 hot Malawian singles chart' for two weeks.

Some of the songs he has recorded are ‘Wina Watenga’, ‘Bola Kusache’ and many others.
