National Ceramics Museum

Bio

The National Ceramics Museum is housed in the Kechla citadel, which was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. The building itself is an interesting treat since, not only does it offer a fantastic view of the roofs of the medina all the way to the cool blue waters of the Atlantic, but it has a number of interesting design elements incorporated into it.

It also has great historical significance. Of course, the most interesting aspect of the building is not the building or the view, but rather the ceramic gems that are housed inside of it. The Kechla citadel is also home to music instruments.

The artwork on display at the National Ceramics Museum is of course, not for sale – especially since many of them are very old.
