Laurent Corthay

Laurent Corthay is a Senior Economist in the World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness & Investment (FCI) Global Practice, based in Mozambique. In this capacity, he helps governments deliver projects that aim to create jobs and spur private investment, entrepreneurship and innovation. He has worked in over thirty countries globally, although his main focus is Africa, where he has lived for the past 15 years between Nairobi, Dakar and now Maputo. Beyond his engagement in sectors like agribusiness, tourism, construction or manufacturing, Laurent is a strong supporter of creative industries as a driver of jobs and income generation, in particular for young people.
