KING KHAI

Bio

KINGKHAI is a recording artist, writer and stage performer from the gold mining town of Carletonville, Gauteng Province.

Born Kagiso Itumeleng Nkuna, KINGKHAI credits the church as his earliest musical influence. KINGKHAI then also went on to join various ensembles which inspired an interest in Western Choral Art music, Contemporary African Jazz and Traditional South African music.

In his tertiary years at the North West University KINGKHAI joined the SAMA winning NWU-PUK Choir. In 2017 KINGKHAI premiered his first choral piece titled "Expressions of Praise" featured on the choirs album Omnia Sol Temperat.

KINGKHAI has graced various productions including Aardklop, Innibos, Spittal an der drau (Austria) and the 8th World choir games (Riga, Latvia).

KINGKHAI’s most recent contributions include his role in the Chasing Dreams project by AfroTech/Dance group, FacelessBand, with a newly released single “Moving Right Along” where KINGKHAI also shows off his writing skills.

Other projects include the “Freedom” EP with the intro track titled 2048 with Jacques Adriaanse and Kea Zawadi. Here KINGKHAI not only sings but is also credited as writer & composer.
Behind the scenes KINGKHAI has creative directed, styled and starred in various music videos including “CHILL” by Kea Zawadi and “SABAWELI” by Facelessband.
