As she asserts herself in the Zimbabwean music landscape, with the confidence that her gift will spread to the region, continent and ultimately across the globe, her vision is to become a steady and impactful voice of self love for a generation bombarded by a multitude of confusing and conflicting voices. With her impactful song Time making it to the BBC Radio Leicester playlist and her feature with ExQ, ‘Mashoko’, making waves in the music scene as well as her performances on notable platforms such as Unplugged Zimbabwe, Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival and Zimbabwe’s highest office, the State House, she is right on the path of its fulfillment.
The ‘Ndendichitodawo’ hit maker has been featured by the popular Zimbabwean music blog, earGROUND, as a powerful voice to be reckoned with, has been featured on the Zim-UK online radio station, Pamtengo Radio and she closed off the fourth edition of the Star FM ‘Listener’s Choice Awards’ 2022 with an electrifying performance She recently delivered a sensational performance at the British Council’s Zimbabwe Creative Economy Week in March 2026.
Kim has also made several appearances on Zimbabwe’s national broadcaster ZBC, and other television stations such as ZTN Prime, 3Ktv and NRTV. In 2023, she was nominated for the Best RnB and Soul category of the Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA), Best Alternative Act at the Changamire Hip Hop Awards (2023) and best RnB Singer Songwriter (2026) Kim Makumbe also participated in the successful award-winning CBZ launch campaign for Zikicash, alongside Master H in May 2024 and several other successful commercial adverts, making her a steady corporate campaign voice to reckon with.
This vocal sensation is an active participant of the British Council sponsored Scripts & Bars (now Music Connects Africa) program run by Kay Media Africa and she graduated as a member of Godwin Tom’s Creative Business Academy for Africa Class of 2022. Kim is currently the CBA for Africa partner to Zimbabwe, spreading music business knowledge to her fellow artists.
