Jakay Jason

Jakay Jason, real name Jacob Igboja is a music producer, sound engineer and is a native of Enugu state, Nigeria. He is a versatile act but Afro beats/house music is what he enjoys doing the most and it has come to be known as his genre.

Jakay Jason's sounds are deeply rooted in percussive and pluck, tribal and native instruments. Overtime his music has been influenced by a style of music that involves the use of natural sounds that is readily found in music from Brymo, Mi Casa, Jesse Jagz, Duncan Mighty and Asa. Generally, he draws inspiration from every piece of music that sounds natural and makes him feel connected with the earth, rooted.

Jakay, as he's fondly called has worked with a couple of artistes, he produced "Who Got It" for rap sensation Rik Hamale In 2017 and later did "Telemilole" and "Tick Tock" featuring Tiino, Braz, Prosyd and Rik Hamale respectively. He also produced "Love With You" by Asikey which was nominated for Songwriter of the year in Africa in the continental category of Afrima, 2019 and
they both have an EP that is slated to be released later this year titled, "Prima Materia".
