As Fela Kuru, he crafts music that defies mainstream conventions, instead embracing an alternative sound that weaves together spiritual jazz, Gnawa, Charanga, Cossa nova,Afro-Rock-Funk, and Afrobeat/Highlife.
As Maphendlindlela, Fela Kuru's conceptual persona, he spearheads collaborative efforts with fellow creatives through The Kummon Project. Master Splinter played a pivotal role in shaping Eswatini's underground music scene from 2012 to 2018, particularly through initiatives like Rare Gruv Shack (2012-2015) and Oltymer's Session (2016-2018). Notable projects include the Rare Gruv Shack Unplugged Sessions and The Gruv Shack Session, which showcased local talent and fostered a sense of community.
