ELJxH
Bio
Sanele Mkhondo (born July 25, 1993), known professionally as ELJxH (pronounced Elijah), is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer whose music blends raw emotion with lyrical precision. Born and raised in Johannesburg, he had no formal musical background when his now producer, Bongani “Steven B” Mathebula, first invited him to a studio session. At the time, he was an I.T. student halfway through his first year — until he dropped out to pursue music full-time. Since his debut EP H.O.E (Honesty Over Everything) in 2016, ELJxH has built a reputation for moody, soul-baring projects like The Book of Eli (2020), The Lost Chapter (2022), and the Sincerely Yours EP series (2022 & 2024). But in recent months, he’s been on a run you can’t afford to miss. His music videos for HATETHATILOVEU, Your Love, Insecure, and Sekwenzekile have been sparking conversations online — each release drawing in new listeners, more views, and more proof that he’s carving out his own space in the game. ELJxH doesn’t just release music; he crafts an atmosphere — cinematic yet intimate, laced with late-night confessions, autumn-toned moods, and moments that blur the line between rap and R&B. His recent streak feels less like a reintroduction and more like a quiet takeover. If you haven’t been paying attention, now is the time — because
everyone else is starting to.
