Diplomat

Born on 11 July 1987 in Rwamagana District, Diplomat (real name Nuur Fassasi) is a rapper from Kigali, Rwanda. He attended Ecole Primaire Kicukiro and Kigali International Academy. He draws his aspirations from artists such as Snoop Dog, Warren G and Nate Dog. His journey to music started when he joined a rock music group called Red G. While with the group, Red G released a song called ‘Business’. He has done solo projects and his first single is ‘Umucakara Wibihe’. The song earned him a mark in the country’s music industry. He later collaborated with celebrated rapper Bulldog on ‘Umushonji Uguye Isari’. He also featured The Ben on his song called ‘Inzu Yibitabi’. Some of the songs he has released include ‘Diplomatie’, ‘Akotsi K’abatabazi’, ‘Inzira Ndende’ among others.

In February 2015, he started a project called ‘Rap 4 Change’. The project was designed to promote young music talent in the country.
