Bio
The Conquerors Reggae Band is all about roots Reggae and promoting a positive message
through our music. Our main objective is to contribute to nation building, social cohesion
and spread universal love while making you skank to our groovy rhythms of our original
music.
The Conquerors performs regularly at Cape Town Reggae festivals such as Annual Paarl
Rasta Cultural Festival and Monwabisi Reggae Legends Sunsplash. A highlight for the band
was opening the 2017 edition of jamming reggae fest headlined by Gentlemen (Germany)
which was backed by Azania, SA’s finest reggae outfit. The proceeds of this event went to
the Bridges School of music in Langa. Another highlight was playing at the Lucky Dube
tribute headline by Nkulee Dube at Athlone Stadium, Cape Town. 2019 the band did a
reggae at the market tour whereby they performed at some of Cape Town’s popular
markets with the objective of contributing to nation building and social cohesion. 2020 the
band had a breakthrough by being selected to perform at the 2020 edition of Cape Town
Jazzathon and the V&A Waterfront Take the Stage series.
While 2021 has been challenging for many artists including the Conquerors. The band
participated in Iziko Museums South Africa Enduring Covid project where they highlighted
the impact of covid on the arts with a focus on the impact it had on the band. The band did
an online production recently as part of the National Arts Festival Virtual Fringe Programme,
which lead to a front page exposure in the TygerBurger newspaper. The band also got to
perform on Expresso Morning Show – Sabc 3 as part of celebrating Jamaica culture. The
band performs at various markets across Cape Town, Mojo Market and Legit Lit Market
being their favourite spots where you can catch them live.
The band is growing form strength to strength and continues to push the message of one
love, peace and unity through their original roots’ reggae music.
