Carlprit

Bio

Born on 20 May 1986 in Harare, Zimbabwe, Carlprit (real name Rudi Schwamborn) is an artist born to Zimbabwean mother and German father. He occupies a number of roles in the music industry. He is a rapper, actor, songwriter and music manager. He attended North Park Primary and Ellis Robins Boys' High schools before leaving Harare for Germany. He is young brother to Metaphysics of Söhne Mannheims.

In early 2000, he started releasing music. In 2003, he appeared on his brother's record ‘The Universe’, from the ‘Digital Garden’ album. He has released numerous unofficial mix tape remixes. He has performed with a number of artists such as Cascada, Alexandra Stan and Laurent Wolf. In 2006, Carlprit tried to set up his own Hustlers Academy imprint with his Dahoud Faron. The label wasn’t a success and this prompted him to start performing in clubs and hosting appearances. He created YouTube releases as a way of gaining recognition. In 2009, Carlprit signed to ZooLand Records through his older brother Metaphysics.

He has made an appearance on German group Cascada's single ‘Evacuate the Dancefloor’ (2009). The song sold over three million copies worldwide. The track is reportedly the first song by a Zimbabwean to reach the top 20 on U.S. Billboard charts. In 2010, he released his debut single ‘See You @ The Top’. The song features the UK-based brothersBkay and Kazz.

He has released a number of mixtape remixes. The songs have failed to give him enough recognition owing to language barrier that he faced in Germany. In 2011, Zooland and Universal records released Carlprit's second solo single, ‘1234’. This was followed by his third single ‘Fiesta’. That same year, he launched his debut album ‘Boom’. In November 2013, he released ‘Party Round the World’. He has collaborated with a number of artists such as Mike Candys, Michael Mind Project, Alexandra Stan, Laurent Wolf, Darius and Finlay, Shaun Baker, R.I.O, U-Jean and many other artists.
