Bright Chimezie

Bio

Bright Chimezie is a Nigerian singer/song-writer, born on 1 October 1960, at Umuahia in Eastern Nigeria. He started out his music career as a Traditional musician in his home-town and eventually transited into R+B covers. He was featured in TV programmes at Aba in then Imo State, whilst still at secondary school.

He moved to Lagos in 1979 and joined the Nigerian Customs Service Band. He was signed to Rogers All Star Records in 1983 and released his mega-hit "Okoro Junior" in 1984. A series of hits was to follow - wth a central theme of Afro-centrism and authenticity. He was signed on to perform in the legendary Benson and Hdges Golden Tones Concerts in the 90's. He still performs today across Nigeria and Internationally.
