Boubacar Djiba

Talent can be described in a multitude of ways, it can be an innate skills or a learned through years of practice but occasionally, it’s a mixture of both, which happens to be the case of Boubacar DJIBA. Also known as VAZY, Boubacar is a Music Producer, Songwriter, brand strategist, entrepreneur, graphic and sound designer born in 1986 in Senegal. Despite his love and passion for music Boubacar did not forget that studies plays a huge role in his life as his parents always told him, he hold a Master degree in American Civilization and Literature and also work with international institutions on communication, entrepreneurship and arts projects.

Boubacar paved his way into the music industry growing up with a strong drive and passion for music. He first started as a DJ in his neighborhood doing mix for schools events then as an MC hosting concert which helped him to gain lot of experience in the music field. Years later, he met a friend named Yaya BA who introduce him to music softwares mainly to Fruity Loops (Daw). Then, he started spending hours in his room crafting his beats with his computer keyboard and his mouse. His dream was to be a music producer, he started producing for many young artists in his neighborhood Thiaroye and became recognized for his outstanding sound and professional work.

Knowing that there’s a long way to go he started teaching himself how to play piano and how to broaden his music browser ranging from music production, audio engineering, mixing, mastering management, graphic design and more by taking online courses on Berklee Music School and Full Sail University Youtube channels listening to industry moguls talks and conference, he also did an internship at Duplex Studio where he met Moctar SALL who gave him the shot to intern and work with him in his studio which allowed him to have a better know-how on studio technics and sound engineering. Boubacar carve out his own way nurturing his talent and believing that he can achieve anything with perseverance, persistence and discipline.

In 2007, he was one of the first Senegalese music producer to open a production platform on the biggest producers website in the world soundclick with a vip account he started selling and sending songs to different artists form Usa, Paris, Canada …

In 2011, he started his independent label Vazy Music which aims to create a new waves of sound and artists the same year he bump into Mary NDIAYE hitlab profile an artist spoted by Akon and singed under universal Sweden seeing the talent she had Boubacar Djiba decided to managed her career in Senegal by crafting a strategic penetration plan and placing her music videos on local Tvs, radios and on Trace TV etc…thanks to his work Mary gain a very big success.
