Black Theama (بلاك تيما) is a popular Egyptian band founded in 2004 that blends Nubian rhythms with various genres like reggae, hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and blues. The group's mission is to celebrate the "black experience in Egypt" and address social and cultural themes that differ from standard pop music clichés.
The band was formed by three primary vocalists:
- Amir Salah Eldeen: A singer and actor who originally started in theater.
- Mohamed Abdo: A singer who focuses on the unique culture and tone of voice of people from Southern Egypt.
- Ahmed Bahr: A co-founder and singer who emphasizes tackling emotions and issues rarely addressed in contemporary music.
