Bahati Female Band

The Bahati Female Band started in 2020 and is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This is the fruit of the Bahati Art Group. That has very rich of skills and talent in different disciplines of Music, Art & Culture.

The Bahati Female Band is made up of young women who has a passion for music, dance, drama and combined with artists who play traditional instruments and perform modern, contemporary, traditional dances full choreographed to mix and match with various music genres.

The Bahati Female Band has a team of ten (10) Artists and the Band Leader who are well multi-talented and well-groomed artist who can combine skills in singing, playing different instruments, percussions and entertain audiences who have a test for African beats and different types of music.

The goal of the Bahati Female Band is to explore their potential. Uplift and promote talented women who make living out of music. This is also a place to give the artist a platform to nurture skills in budding artists like the youth and children who are eager to explore their potential.

The Bahati Female Band has been engaged in working with different people and participated in major musical concerts in Tanzania, some of few recent work/performances is at the Sauti za Busara Festival - Zanzibar (2022), Marafiki Music Festival - Tanzania (2021), Nafasi Arts Space - Dar es salaam (2021), Alliance Francaise - Dar es salaam (2021 & 2022), Tumesikika - Goethe Institute - Dar es salaam (2021).

In 2022 the Bahati Female Band entered in Tanzania Music Awards 2021 as nominees with their Song Ndoto in the category of Best Traditional Song of the Year.

In 2021 they were also awarded a Champion prize with the European Union Delegation in Tanzania and the union of CSOs in Tanzania as active artists in empowering women and also at the end of the year 2021 the President of Tanzania Hon. Samia Suluhu Hassan bought full music instruments and other equipments to the Bahati Female Band as a way to show acceptance of the band’s effort in uplifting the women and also in several times they have performed at Presidential events including in the state house of the Tanzania.
