Gambian artist Nu Chilly wins UK award
UK based Gambian reggae dancehall artist Nu Chilly has won Artist of the Year at the 2015 Interface Gambia TV Awards. The award ceremony was held at the Royal Regency hotel in London, England on New Year's Eve.
Interface Gambia TV, now in its third edition, awards deserving Gambians in the diaspora. The event is held to inspire people, promote businesses and support Gambian ventures in the UK and elsewhere abroad. InterFace Gambia seeks to bridge the gap between Gambia and the world by targeting a global audience while promoting Gambian culture and educating the younger generation by highlighting positive trends within the community.
The newly crowned Artist of the Year, Nu Chilly expressed gratitude to God, his fans, and his mother, saying: “I will begin by thanking God the Almighty who made it possible to win Artist of the Year award with the support of all my Fans, family and friends. Not forgetting the blessings from mum who is constantly praying for the betterment of my career.”
He added: “It’s with honor to say that this has been one of my biggest achievements and I am overwhelmed with the support I received during this whole voting process. I feel so loved right now, I personally wish I could reach out to each and every one of you shaking hand and say thank you."
