Zimfest Live announces 2021 line-up
Redcliff Management has announced the artists who will perform at the 2021 edition of Zimfest Live at Colesdale Farm in Potters Bar, UK, on 31 August.
Confirmed musicians include Jah Prayzah, Tamy Moyo, Gemma Griffiths, Trevor Dongo, Poptain, Garry Mapanzure, Probeatz and Qounfuzed. The event will be hosted by comedian Munashe and DJs Empress Trish and King Alfred.
“I am really thrilled and happy to be part of Zimfest Live,” Moyo told Music In Africa. “It’s such a great platform, I can’t wait to perform again.”
Moyo said she was looking forward to an event that would help her connect with a new audience.
“It opens new doors and I will also have the opportunity to interact with international acts as well, which could lead to collaborations. It will also expose my mind to new experiences and broaden my thought process as an artist. There’s really so much to benefit from such events and I’m excited to be here.”
Redcliff Management said: “It's great to be back after a year that reshaped the arts and entertainment sector in a big way. We're hoping that this year’s live event will mark the beginning of us returning to some form of normality. Given the current climate, our priority is everyone’s safety and we’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure we deliver a safe event.”
Zimfest was first held in 2001 on a field behind HM Prison Wandsworth in London. The event seeks to provide entertainment for Zimbabweans based in the diaspora. The festival has also been held in Cape Town, Perth, Brisbane and Oslo.
