Top SA female musicians to headline Nubian Music Fest
Some of South Africa's biggest female musicians will headline the Nubian Music Festival, which will be livestreamed from Sun City in the North West province on 29 August.
- Sho Madjozi is among the artists on the line-up.
The artist featured on the line-up include Afro-jazz artist Judith Sephuma, bass guitarist Aus Tebza, Afropop singer Amanda Black, house singer Lady Zamar and rapper Sho Madjozi.
The annual show, which will be livestreamed for the first time, is organised to celebrate Women’s Month in South Africa. The event will be hosted by media personality and businesswoman Bonang Matheba, who doubles up as the concert's co-producer.
"I’m excited to be producing my first live-stream music event, especially from Sun City, in the province where I was born," Matheba said. "This is an important month for women to be inspired, to realise their dreams, and this live stream intends to do just that along with some of the country’s and Africa’s greatest female artists in their music fields."
Nubian Music Festival founder Mpho Mathope said: “It is an honour to be able to livestream this celebration of South African women and especially the amazing artists who present our music heritage to the world. We’re also excited that we can bring the Nubian goal of promoting social togetherness and cultural tolerance to an even larger audience in the age of COVID-19.”
The event will start at 3pm (CAT). Purchase tickets to Nubian Music Festival here. Tickets for on-demand viewing can also be purchased for 48 hours after the live stream ends.
