From the pulsating rhythms of ‘Vaccine’ to the heartfelt melodies of ‘Hamba Nami’, the EP promises to take listeners on a journey of emotion and expression. With collaborations from Murumba Pitch, Jnr SA, Dearson, Pixie L and Kitchen Mess. Uzuri is a testament to the power of collaboration and collective creativity.
Uzuri is a Swahili word for beauty and embodies the essence of their latest musical endeavour, a collection of tracks that transcend borders, languages, and cultures to connect with listeners on a profound level. It follows a series of successful releases, including chart-topping singles like ‘Teka’ and ‘Siyobonana’, which have dominated the airwaves and garnered millions of streams. With ‘Skontiri’, the teaser single released on 15 March, Malumz On Decks offered fans a taste of what’s to come – a fusion of infectious beats, soulful lyrics, and energetic performances that define their signature sound.
According to the duo, the beauty of Uzuri lies not only in its sonic elements but also in its ability to resonate with audiences worldwide. Regardless of language barriers, cultural differences, or geographical distances, the EP seeks to unite listeners through the universal language of music.
Comprising Oscar Nyathi and Mandla Mtshali, Malumz on Decks has become a household name in the South African house music scene. Hailing from Ekurhuleni, east of Johannesburg, the duo’s journey has been marked by accolades and achievements, including a South African Music Awards win and a residency at Metro FM.
