South African rock band The Dirty Skirts will perform at The Armchair Theatre in Cape Town on 9 December.
- The Dirty Skirts.
The show marks a return to the venue where the band cultivated its early following, and follows the release of the three-track EP titled Radiant Clouds in July. The record showcases The Dirty Skirts’ signature blend of infectious energy, compelling lyrics and masterful musicianship.
The Dirty Skirts’ original line-up of Jeremy de Tolly on vocals and guitar, David Moffatt on guitar, Maurice Paliaga on bass and Mark De Menezes on drums will take to stage, taking audiences back to the band’s earliest hits and new tracks from Radiant Clouds as well as providing a sneak peek into the upcoming EP set for release in April 2024. The band will also be joined by their former manager and DJ, Candice Heyns.
With multiple albums to their credit, including standout songs like ‘Homewrecker’, ‘Daddy Don’t Disco’, ‘Feeling the Pressure’ and ‘Strike the Match’, The Dirty Skirts have enjoyed an illustrious musical journey.
The rise was catapulted by the 2011 SAMAs-winning album Lost in the Fall, which led to opening slots for international giants like Oasis, Snow Patrol, Evanescence, Three Doors Down, Billy Talent and Staind. A highlight of the band’s career was performing at the prestigious SXSW festival in the US in 2007.
