Malibongwe Arts Festival unveils line-up for Women’s Month celebrations
The Malibongwe Arts Festival: Tribute to Women will return on 24 August, at Mark’s Park in Emmarentia, Johannesburg, as part of South Africa’s Women’s Month commemorations.
- British singer Keisha White is among the headliners.
Running from 9am to 6pm, the festival will feature a full day of performances honouring the role of women in music and society. The event aims to bring together diverse audiences and performers for a shared celebration of artistry, resilience, and community.
The 2025 line-up features a range of acclaimed local and international artists. Headliners include UK singer Keisha White and South African artists Thandiswa Mazwai, Ami Faku, Makhadzi, The Soil, Lloyiso and Mi Casa.
The festival also marks a new chapter with the appointment of Dr Criselda Kananda as the official ambassador and chairperson of the newly established Malibongwe Arts Festival Foundation. Her role, the organisers said, signals a move to strengthen the event’s social impact by supporting women in the arts and promoting gender equity in the cultural sector.
“The involvement of Dr Criselda Kananda brings a new energy to the festival,” they said. “Her leadership will help grow the festival into a platform that not only entertains but also empowers.”
The event is open to all ages, and attendees are encouraged to secure tickets early via Webtickets.
