Spotify launches limited-time listening history feature for 20th anniversary
Spotify has introduced a new in-app feature offering users a retrospective view of their listening history as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.
Spotify Africa music executive Phiona Okumu.
The limited-time experience, titled Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s), is available on mobile devices and provides users with personalised statistics covering their time on the platform. The feature includes information such as the first day a user joined Spotify, their first streamed song, total number of unique tracks played and their most-streamed artist of all time.
Users are also given access to an “All-Time Top Songs” playlist featuring their 120 most-played tracks, alongside individual play counts.
Similar to Spotify’s annual Wrapped campaign, the experience concludes with a shareable summary card designed for social media posting and user interaction.
The feature is available in 144 markets and supports 16 languages. Users can access it through the Spotify app by searching for “Spotify 20” or “Party of the Year(s)”, or via the company’s official mobile website.
Alongside the personalised feature, Spotify’s editorial team has curated playlists highlighting major musical trends, eras and cultural moments from the past two decades.
The launch forms part of Spotify’s broader anniversary campaign. Last month, the company published lists ranking the most-streamed artists, albums, songs and podcasts on the platform.
Spotify’s annual Wrapped campaign has become one of the company’s most prominent engagement tools, encouraging users to share listening data online while reinforcing the platform’s visibility across social media.
According to Spotify, the 2025 Wrapped campaign generated more than 200 million engaged users within the first 24 hours, representing a 19% increase compared with the previous year. The company also said users shared Wrapped recaps approximately 500 million times during the campaign period.
