SOWETO SPIRITUAL SINGERS is a 15 vocal ensemble in total, accompanied by dancers and a 5 piece band showcasing our diverse Spiritual African Music & Diaspora to the World and its diverse forms. The Choir was formed to celebrate our “Unity in Diversity” as a Nation, showcasing our cultures and traditions in an energetic performances accompanied with dance, ululating and exhilarating towering of Joy. We collaborated (Recorded) and performed 2010 FIFA theme Song “Sign of a Victory” with R. Kelly at the Opening Ceremony for 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup in Johannesburg. We have for the past 4 years extensively toured UK and Europe.
We just recently recorded a soundtrack for the Broadway Hit Production “the Lion King with Mr Lebo M, to be released now in July

Soweto Spiritual Singers is an internationally-acclaimed touring production choir that has enjoyed ‘sold out’ shows across Europe, UK and Africa, making a name for themselves as one the best vocal/choral outfits to come out of South Africa. This 22 all-inclusive ensemble i.e of (vocals, 5-piece band, African Dancers and Drummers,) present a spectacular show with acrobatic dances and powerful African harmonies, producing a style of music that is classified ‘World Music’

Soweto Spiritual Singers has released two CDs independently and one more with Sony Music, South Africa. They performed former President Mr Nelson Mandela’s favorite song “Something inside so Strong” on his 91st Birthday, in collaboration with Sony Live stream wherein He watched the performance.
We have performed at the closing of Common-Wealth games in Glasgow, Scotland in 2014

Soweto Spiritual Singers won an award as best Group at Crown Gospel Awards and were nominated for SAMA (South African Music Awards) as the best Group.

Founded by siblings, Nkululeko Vilakazi & Vicky Vilakazi, Soweto Spiritual Singers has been managed under their company Vilakazi Entertainment Group.
