SOUL AFFECTERS
With the aim to be global and give their own perspective to the music industry, the Soul Affecters are on a mission to develop each other musically and give the world a taste of what they have. The Tembisa raised and based band blends jazz, soul, house and hip hop music to give you afrofusion. “In late 2016 we formed the group and started performing at different churches and that’s how we found our own sound,” says trumpeter Siyabonga Shezi. This was after Tshepiso and Phumlani decided to sort of formalise their music and form the band. They recruited friends and guys they met along their journey with the aim to make music to affect souls, hence the Soul Affecters. This is a live band that performs their own original compositions and sometimes renditions and covers of some of the country’s lovable songs. Digging their inspirations from groups like The Muffinz and The Soil, the group infuses African sounds to their soul-soothing music and a bit of gospel. The group says they do not like their sound to be boxed; they call it a fusion because of the many genres they involves.
Soul Affecters goal is to release a debut single very soon and introduce a wider market to their sound, Since they have been in studio Recorded 5 songs namely;
Incwadi, Feelings, Thando, Dry Season, The Cry of the Nation.
Soul Affecters is looking to Promote the Highest levels of human aspiration and artistic integrity through the composition and performance of Music, as well develop an analytical, creative and intuitive understanding of Music as a language.
