Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors

Bio

Founded in 2004, Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors is a popular gospel group from Swaziland. The ensemble is led by Timothy Myeni, a former MP. The gospel group stole hearts of many when they emerged into the spotlight and was later embroiled by internal squabbles thereby forcing them from releasing an album. Shortly afterwards, the group said they had dealt with the controversy and were now focusing on preaching the word of God. In 2009, the group won the South African Music Awards for the Best Selling Album and DVD of the year. That same year they also won two awards during the Crown Gospel Music Awards ceremony in Durban.

Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors are popular for hits like ‘Christ Died For Me’, ‘Izulu Khanya Lami’ and ‘Amazulu a Vulekile’. In November 2011, they performed in Lesotho at a show dubbed Gospel Explosion. The show show was organised by a religious group, Regal Christian Centre. In July of that year, they completed a successful tour in the U.K. where they rocked gospel music lovers. The group spent two weeks in Britain following an invitation by Christendom Pentecostal Church led by Reverend Niah N Mpofu based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

In July 2014, they released their 14th album ‘Uyalalelwa uNkulunkulu’. Some of their famous songs include ‘Bakhiphe Moses’, ‘Izulu Ikhaya Lami’ and ‘Uthando’. That same year, the gospel outfit travelled to East London, South Africa for a two-week crusade.
They have on many occasions sung and shared the stage with big groups like Joyous Celebration, Avante, Rebecca Malope, Sipho Makhabane and many other artists.
