Namibian Art Performance Centres Association (NAPeCAs)
Bio
Namibian Art Performance Centers Association (NAPeCAs) is a non-profit organisation that was established in 1993 at the Mission Station in Oshikuku, Namibia. It was formed by Vic. Hans Leu and Lis Hidber. The organisation thrives to promote the Namibian arts industry particularly in disadvantaged communities. The idea is to encourage artists to rely upon themselves for survival. Its goal is to focus on human development and job creation.
The organisation established three Art Performance Centres (APC's) in Oshikuku (1993), Omagalanga (2001) and Tsumeb (2003). Its success has created nationwide interest and several requests have been made to start similar projects in other parts of the country. The organisation is working on establishing new centers in Otjiwarongo, Walvis Bay, Rundu, Okongo and extending Tsumeb APC.
