Mahenza was born 06 April 1983 in Mahikeng in North-west Province. The self-taught
multimedia (predominantly music & film) Producer, Creator, Designer, DJ and Dancer is what
many- in-the-know may call the most innovative and timeless artist to come out from Mahikeng.
Mahenza was spotted in 1996 by two; now defunct albeit well known and then widely
broadcast; artist developmental companies called SHELL ROAD TO FAME and TOP OF
THE BOP POPS, which gave a performance platform to upcoming musicians.
In 2005, he had the opportunity to work with the Legendary Rex Rabanye (May his soul rest in
peace), his son Kgotso Rabanye and Teenage Lovers Music on a Project. (Rexito Vol. 1) It
was during this project that the late Mr. Rabanye lost his hearing only to later pass away in
2010. Rexito Vol. 1 was duly released in December, 2016.
Mahenza has worked with different Artists and Producers from Mahikeng, North West
Province including Jerah Mothusi (Soul Candi), Kgotso Rabanye (MMR RECORDS)

Usher Raymond Hansa’s 2012 Legends in The Making Tour in South Africa.
2012 saw one of his many career highlights when he was playing for Mo Klaasik who was
chosen as one of the six (6) Finalists to open for Usher Raymond during the Hansa’s 2012
Legends in The Making Tour in South Africa. Mahenza was accompanied by Gaopalelwe
‘Apu’ Sebekedi and Mogomotsi Mo Klaasik Klaas. It was also in this year that Amogelang
(Mahenza) Selotlego was inducted into the Genre Steering Committee of the South African
Music Awards. (SAMAs)
2013 was the birth and formation of BlazinHendz Entertainment (Pty) Ltd which render
services such as: Artist Management, Publishing, Marketing, Distribution & All sort of Prints
and it consist of two talented Music creators, Blaze and Mahenza that where the name came
from, to form BlazinHendz
Mahenza revealed that his first album was created using very basic music-making software. “I
don’t know how to explain the production stages of my album Village House Session #1
because all I did was put to down the basic ideas that I had, and worked with the likes of
Gaopalelwe ‘Jerah’ Mothusi and Truscott Toxic Beatz Mmatli, I did use MIDI controllers
and everything was played with a computer mouse. He added that the use of live instruments in a
song is also very important, giving a track that final magic touch and bringing it to life.
