Bio
Lalas Kholo, real names William Kholo
Sekgobela is a musician, writer, poet, radio personnel and a mentor. Born in 1992 December 31. He started his music career in 2009 with a group called Baobabs from Limpopo, a village called Ga-Molepo Mamatsha. In 2010 He decided to volunteer for love life
educational campaign, and started writing poems and performed at their events. He participated in most of the 2010 World cup
events hosted in Limpopo.
A year later he entered Thobela FM heritage competition and
became the finalist. The competition was discontinued due to the withdrawal of the sponsors.
Lalas never lost hope instead he wrote and
recorded more songs and started to volunteer as a performer for political events. Shared the stage with Winnie Khumalo in 2011 welcoming
the former African National Congress (ANC) youth league President Julius Malema, who is currently the chief leader of Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF).
Lalas Kholo also recorded some jingles that
were played on Moswa Le Bokamoso Youth Program on Thobela FM between 2011 and 2013.
He completed his Grade 12 in 2014 and started volunteering as a radio presenter, hosting hip-hop show on ComRad FM, the community
radio in Limpopo. In the year 2016 He moved to Diepsloot and became a volunteer again at Sloot FM, hosting a Jazz show and also volunteered for
Afrika Tikkun charity organization as an assistant in Art and Culture.
In less than 5 months he was hired on a year contract at both Sloot FM and Afrika Tikkun. In April 2016 He got nominated and became the second male artist and number one hip hop
artist for Polokwane Mo Pitori (PMP) awards competition. The same year he shared the stage with Loyiso Bala and Bigsta Johnson at
Bidvest stadium for Afrika Tikkun annual talent day.
In 2017 he got nominated for best hip hop artist and best artist of the year in Diepsloot Lifestyle 1st annual Awards and he walked away with an award for best artist of the year.
Lalas is currently working at Afrika Tikkun as a care giver and a mentor. At Sloot FM as a Jazz presenter and also doing well as a recording artist.
He owns SAKA LE YONA clothing brand and
have shot a music video for Saka Le Yona. He is also working on his first album dedicated to his role model Nelson Mandela. The album is titled "Madiba".
Lalas is a hustler, a believer and a go getter.
He never learnt to depend on people because he grew up without parents and had to do everything on his own for survival.
