Konga Vibes

Konga Vibes is a music outfit from Malawi that plays authentic Malawian music. Formed in 1999, the group is made up of Beni, Manganje, Vimbuza and Chiterera. They started off as The Hard Metals but later changed to Ufulu and the Konga Vibes upon merging with Ufulu. Ufulu was a local a music group from Lilongwe. Shortly afterwards, they re-branded the group name and became the Konga Vibes.

There are seven winners of the Music Crossroads InterRegional Festival. In 2007, the group toured six European countries. While in Europe, they performed at events such as the Festival Mundial in Holland, the Amsterdam Roots Festival, the Fête de la Musique in Tournai Belgium and the much-admired world music festival Couleur Café in Brussels.
