Bio
Freeman (real name Emegy Sylvester Chizanga) was born on 22 June 1988. He grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe. He is one of the well-known Zim dancehall musicians in the country. He is a member of the Dzivarasekwa based group of artists known as DangerZone group of artists and records with PunchLINE Entertainment.
He rose to fame with his single ‘Joina City’. The single was well-received and it was followed by tracks such as ‘Shaina Mwana Iwe’, ‘Doctor WeMagitare’, ‘Handina Godo’ among others. His music has seen him doing collaborations with renowned musicians such as Winky D, Shinsoman, Celscius, Lady Squanda and others. In August 2012, he toured the UK together with Tocky Vibes and Nox Guni.
He has so far released five albums namely ‘Tapinda Mustaera’, ‘Last Man Standing’, ‘VaBeliever’, ‘New Chapta’ (2013) and ‘Varidzi VeZvinhu’ (2014). His song ‘Tapinda muSummer Time’ which featured Seh Calaz was nominated in the Best Collaboration at Zim Dancehall Awards. His video ‘Ruoko Rwangu’ was nominated for the Best Video of the year. He also won the Best Dressed Artiste award.
